Nissan Patrol engine conversion using the 6L80E automatic transmission

Details

Kit contains:

  • Adaptor housing
  • Coupler shaft
  • Seal
  • Bolts
  • Instructions

The transfer case adaptor housing replaces the automatic transmission extension housing. The adaptor housing then fits to the transfer case using the original Nissan bolts. The housing has mounting provision for the hi/low lever.

The 6L80E has an overall case length of 590mm/23.23" without the extension housing. The adaptor housing for the Nissan GU is 161mm/6.34" long. The combined length is the same as a Nissan 5 speed with our MFK605 engine adaptor housing fitted. If the vehicle had a manual transmission fitted, no changes are required. If the vehicle had an automatic transmission fitted - the front tail shaft is too short and the rear tail shaft is too long. Also the gearbox cross member is in the wrong position. This is easily fixed by purchasing the tail shafts and gearbox cross member from a manual vehicle or modification of the automatic parts.

All of the engine mounting, cooling, engine sump, headers etc used to fit the LS2 into a Nissan with a manual transmission can be used when fitting this transmission/LS2 engine combination.
