Chevy V8 diesel engines are now being fitted into the Oka 4WD using our adaptor kits, the kits have been designed to allow the fitting of GM engines and automatic transmissions coupled to the extremely strong Nissan GQ, GU transfer case.
The transfer case adaptors allow the GM TH700R-4, and 4L80-E automatic transmissions to be bolted directly onto the Nissan Patrol transfer case. These kits incorporate a special steel adaptor that rotates the transfer case down on the right hand side by 18 degrees, this angle is required to allow the transfer case front output shaft to fit with a more acceptable drive line angle.
The kits allow you to use the large range of GM V6 and V8 engines, petrol, or diesel in conjunction with the GM automatic transmissions. The transfer case adaptor housing replaces the original extension housing on the automatic transmission. This adaptor housing then mates to the original Nissan Patrol transfer case via the steel rotation plate.
The adaptor housing will suit all GQ and GU Patrol transfer cases including the 4.2 petrol, 4.5 petrol, 4.8 petrol, 4.2 diesel, 3ltr diesel and the RB30 petrol. The housing has been designed to retain the standard Nissan rear transmission mounting, manual hi-low lever, and brackets.
NOTE: The modified main output shaft is sold on a change over basis. If the shaft is not supplied with the original order a deposit of $110.00 will be charged. Change over shafts with a short spline on the front or shafts that are pitted, rusted or heat damaged will not be accepted. The deposit will be refunded when a suitable shaft is received at our factory. All postage or freight charges are the responsibility of the sender.
Some modification to the transmission oil pan to clear the front drive shaft may be required.
