Marks 4WD Adaptors now manufacture a race spec, heavy duty, one piece Toyota Land Cruiser swivel housing/steering arm, the housing is machined to accept the ABS wheel speed sensors should they be fitted to your vehicle.

The new swivel housing has been designed for maximum strength without introducing any new serviceable parts such as the king pin bearings and seals. When fitting, a standard front end rebuild kit is used.

The steering arms and the swivel housing have been cast as one. This design eliminates the four stud and collet design in the lower king housing which are notorious for coming loose when the vehicle is used in harsh off road conditions.

The following photos show the raw castings and fully machined, pre heat treated castings compared to the standard Toyota housing and arm setup on the right.

The housings have been designed with left and right hand drive steering arms to allow them to be fitted to either left or right hand drive vehicles.

The housing is made from heat treated cast SGI. The housings are fully machined leaving a small machining allowance on the bores and faces. They are then heat treated which also stress relieves them prior to the final machining operation.

The photos below show the housings being machined after heat treatment and shot peening, they are also painted with two pack paint prior to this operation.

The lower king pin bearing has been relocated into the swivel housing which increases the distance between the king pin bearings by 30mm, this adds a substantial amount of strength by decreasing the load on the bearings.

The original Toyota shims are used to set the king pin bearing preload.

This photo shows fully machined heat treated and painted housings, ready to be fitted. Note the lugs that look like additional calliper mountings, they are used to attach our portal housings. They can not be used for additional brake callipers as they are not machined to do so.
