COMMODORE V6 3.8 LTR EFI V6 ENGINE

SUMP

Marks 4WD Adaptors manufacture an all metal sump to fit Commodore V6 EFI engines being fitted to Hilux, 4-Runner, Surf  vehicles with independent front suspension.
 
Engine Sump

All leaf sprung models require the use of the standard GM metal sump as found on VN, VP, and VR V6 engines. VS, VT, VX, and later engines are fitted with cast alloy sumps and will not give sufficient front end and steering track rod clearance. With modifications the metal engine sump can be used on Ecotec engines, two holes need to be drilled and tapped in the rear main bearing cap and one hole needs to be slotted in the sump. Some earlier VN model sumps are not shaped to around the rear main bearing cap and will not fit Ecotec engines.

The IFS models also require the use of a metal sump however it must be modified to allow for sufficient steering track rod clearance. Marks 4WD Adaptors manufacture and stock a new metal sump for this application. With modifications the metal engine sump can be used on Ecotec engines, two holes need to be drilled and tapped in the rear main bearing cap and one hole needs to be slotted in the sump. Holden V6 Replacement Engine Sump

This sump/oil pan is designed to give legal differential and steering arm clearance. The oil pan fits in front of the differential housing and the steering arm linkages.
