Most Conversion projects require the use of exhaust manifolds that hug the engine block allowing the engine pipes to clear the chassis and brake pipes. Rams horn exhaust manifolds are perfect for most applications and make engine pipe installation easier. These manifolds are quite old and as a result are getting harder to find in good condition, subsequently making them more expensive.

Block hugger headers are a good alternative as they are similar in shape to the Chevy rams horn manifolds.

The block huggers have an advantage over cast manifolds in that they don't crack when splashed with water, this is because of their tubular design.
