Bellhousing The GM V8 to HJ kit part no. (MFK371#####) utilises the Land Cruiser 11" clutch set up on a new flywheel along with a new bellhousing that measures 240mm/9.45" in length. This new bellhousing and flywheel has been designed to move the engine forward giving adequate clearance between the cylinder heads and firewall. Re positioning of the transmission or firewall modifications are not required with this kit. Chevy V8 Diesel engines are externally balanced. The new flywheel supplied in the kit is fully balanced, and is drilled and doweled to accept the standard Land Cruiser 11" clutch as fitted to 2H engines. The flywheel is heavier, giving greater inertia allowing the engine to idle smoother. The extra weight also helps to give less chance of stalling the engine when off road climbing over rocks, and taking off on steep inclines. The extra weight of the flywheel has no adverse effect on the engine. This new flywheel does not have a ring gear fitted it bolts to the crankshaft behind the GM flex plate. The flex plate carries the ring gear and the balance weight for the engine. The flex plate is secured to the back of the flywheel with 6 bolts and spacers. The bellhousing accepts all Land Cruiser 2F or 2H 6-cylinder components such as the bellhousing mounts, slave cylinder, clutch fork etc. If your vehicle is fitted with a H diesel some additional 2F or 2H parts will be required. Left and right bellhousing mounts and bolts, right hand chassis mount, clutch slave cylinder, push rod and bolts, thrust bearing carrier, clutch fork, clutch fork pivot, clutch fork boot, bellhousing breather boot, and 2F or 2H clutch kit. |
Engine Mounting Kits These kits consist of replacement chassis brackets which can be bolted or welded to the chassis rails and utilise GM engine mounting rubbers. These rubbers have been found to be stronger than the Land Cruiser rubbers. The engine mounting kits have been designed to give you sufficient legal engine sump to differential clearance when used with a standard rear bowel GM sump. Land Cruiser Fan Adaptor The Land Cruiser viscous coupled fan is very effective as the coupling, when heated by the warm air from the radiator, virtually locks the fan directly to the water pump rapidly cooling the engine. Marks 4WD Adaptors manufacture an adaptor kit that easily couples the the Chevy water pump and pulley to the Toyota viscous coupling and fan. |

Air Cleaner Adaptor Chevy diesel engines are usually fitted with an air cleaner that looks similar to the type fitted to Chevy petrol carburettor engines. This type of air cleaner will require modifications to allow it to be used with a snorkel. To over come this problem Marks 4WD Adaptors now manufacture a cast aluminium hat that takes the place of the GM air cleaner. The inlet takes a 3 1/2" hose and will fit directly to a late model Toyota air cleaner hose, should you have an early model air cleaner with a 3" outlet a rubber adaptor hose can be used. These parts can be purchased separately or as a complete kit. |
