Dual Transfer Case Adaptor

For

Nissan GQ and GU Patrol Transfer Cases

Designed to achieve as many as three possible low range ratios for Rock Crawling, or serious off road driving, Marks 4WD Adaptors now manufacture for Nissan GQ and GU Patrol a Dual Transfer Case Kit.

The standard Nissan GQ and GU transfer case is assembled in three basic portions, front, centre and rear. The front section contains the low ratio gears, this section of the transfer case including the gears and selector components along with our adaptor are assembled to make an independent transmission. This transmission is installed between the original gearbox (manual, auto, TH400, TH700 etc) and the transfer case.

This kit now gives the driver two low ratio options the standard Nissan transfer case low gear ratio of 2.02:1, and 4.08:1 when both are selected. When used in conjunction with our Gearmaster 3.74:1 Low Range Gears three speeds can be achieved 2.02:1, 3.74:1 and 7.55:1.

 
The internal selector requires a small welding job to enable the new transmission to be shifted. The photos below show the selector modification.
 
When assembled the new transmission measures 234mm/91/4" in length.
 
The following photos show the the new transmission fitted between the gearbox and transfer case.
 
Using the Nissan selector mechanism also enables the use of an original Hi/Low lever. For ease of installation in early GQ models we have designed a kit that comes with a new Hi/Low lever pivot, lockout plates and bracket spacers.   

When installing this unit, driveline and transmission tunnel modifications are required.

Rebuild kits are also available for those who wish to build their own dual transfer case. The transfer case rebuild kit consists of all the required bearings and seals.
