One of the most popular products that Mark has designed is the Gearmaster Gear Range.

These gears are exported all over the world & have proven an extremely popular addition to our product range.

The following questions are the most common received by our sales team.


Are these gears Australian Made?

Absolutely 100% as are all our products except for the selected range of adaptor kits we import from Advance Adapters USA for the US vehicles

What are the benefits of fitting the Gearmaster Gears?

There are a number of benefits. The most important is the safety aspect. The engine braking is dramatically increased. This is most important, especially for vehicles running automatics. Depending on the ratio option, the ability to change high range ratio to either overdrive or under drive.

Can I fit these gears myself?

That depends on your mechanical capabilities. The gears are supplied with full step by step fitting instructions . We suggest you read these before making the decision. The gears can be easily fitted by our workshop or your mechanic.

What modifications are required when fitting the gears?

Some grinding of the transfer case to clear the bigger gear is required.

Do I have a ratio choice?

Yes, 4 options are available depending on your requirements.

Are these gears noisy compared to the original?

The gears can have a distinct whine at approximately 80kph. By using our recommended gear oil this noise is dramatically reduced.

Where do I purchase this oil?

The oil is supplied with your initial order & can be purchased in 1 litre bottles through Marks 4WD Adaptors.

Are these gears weaker than the original Toyota Gears?

Definitely not. Our gears include our Tapered Roller Bearing Conversion. This increases the strength of the transfer case dramatically.

Do these gears have a warranty?

Absolutely, 12 months from the date of purchase.

Are these units readily available?

Absolutely, the units are a stock item.
