manufacture this transmission brake to suit all vehicles fitted with a Toyota
Landcruiser split transfer case.
Some applications that
could make use of this system are as follows
1.
Early
4# series Land Cruisers that have been upgraded from the one-piece transfer
case to the split transfer case.
2.
6#
series vehicles, which have had the rear, drum brakes replaced by disc brakes.
3.
7#
series vehicles, which have had the rear, drum brakes replaced by disc brakes.
4.
Special
purpose vehicles using the Land Cruiser split transfer case. The transmission brake is
easy to fit however the rear drive shaft will need to be shortened by 30mm to
accept the new brake drum position. Unlike the early Toyota transmission
brake this unit can be serviced without the need to drain the transfer case oil,
as the brake drum is separate to the transfer case output drive flange.
This photograph shows
the transmission brake fitted to a Toyota Bundera. |
