LANDCRUISER 80 SERIES GXL

OVERHEAD RADIO CONSOLE

Marks 4WD Adaptors manufacture two radio consoles for the 80 series GXL Land Cruiser.

The first console has been primarily designed to accept a DIN size two-way radio that measures 173mm wide by 52mm high. Radios such as the Electrophone TX4000 and the TX4200 or the Uniden UH-088 and UH-100 are manufactured to this standard and fit neatly into this console.

The console is constructed around a precision, laser cut steel bracket which is zinc plated for an excellent resistance to rust. The bracket is fibre glassed into a fibreglass outer shell. The fibreglass shell is then trimmed with a grey 100% marine Foss fibre material to give a professional finish.

The photograph below shows a TX4200 fitted to a 1995 GXL 80 series using the radio console.

The second console is the same as the first one with the exception of the cut-out for the radio. This blank faced universal console can be used to install non-DIN size CB radios, remote faced HF radios, or a GPS, and extra gauges could also be installed using this console.
