Genuine Toyota Diff Gasket – Front Factory Diff Lock – LandCruiser 70, 80, 100 Series – Prado 90 Series (OEM 42181-60170)

If the front diff housing flexes too much, the stud and nuts can loosen, leading to a failed gasket and oil leakage.
Around 2019, Toyota updated the front diff housing by welding an extra internal brace, designing a new gasket, and changing the stud and nut lengths.
This was to help stiffen the front diff housing, reduce flexing, and reduce the risk of gasket failure.

Since this update, we have not seen a gasket failure on the front diff.

Although older diff housings lack the extra internal brace, this kit can still be used, and when installed with the newly designed gasket, it greatly reduces the risk of gasket failure.
