When installing new leaf springs, we highly recommend using new bushes and pins, etc., which can be purchased in our optional Installation Kit, including brand-new shackles, U-Bolts, greaseable pins and bushes.

Pro Bush Shackle Bush Kit

The Terrain Tamer Pro Bush Suspension Bush Kit is designed for use with the Terrain Tamer TSK026 Shackle.

U-Bolts

Suspension U-bolts are essential components in a vehicle’s suspension system. They are named for their U-shaped appearance and play a crucial role in securing the leaf springs or other suspension components to the axle.

Over time, factors such as corrosion, wear, cross-threading or incorrect torque can compromise their effectiveness, which is why we recommended upgrading the factory U-Bolts to a brand-new set for safety and peace of mind.

Greasable Pin Kit

A greaseable pin kit is designed to allow lubrication of pivot points, pins and bushings to reduce friction between the moving parts,  and premature wear from dirt and dust.

Greasable pins & shackles help protect bushes from premature wear due to dirt & grit. Applying grease through the nipple forces grease through the joint clearing any debris. Greasable components are important in vehicles being used in dusty or highly salty environments.
Often overlooked when upgrading suspension we always recommend replacing shackles & bushes. Over time these components can become worn & damaged & in replacing these can help stabilise the rear axle movement. Worn components can cause the vehicle to “wander” when driving or be unstable when braking especially if towing or carrying a load.

Greasable Shackle Kit

The benefit of using greasable shackles lies in their ability to safeguard the bushings from premature wear caused by the entry of dirt and grit.

Greasable shackles are equipped with grease nipples that allow leaf spring bushings to be kept lubricated at all times. This allows for better spring travel and articulation off-road. This in turn improves bush life and dramatically reduces spring fatigue.

The telltale sign that might suggest you need to install greasable shackles in your suspension is that your bushings have begun to show serious signs of wear and tear.Shackles are often overlooked when it comes to upgrading suspension and you will be paying slightly more for greasable shackles but it’s an upgrade you’ll be glad you went through with. You’ll get more flex for the rear axle and you’ll notice a quieter ride too, especially on-road driving. Remember, however, that you’ll need to keep them greased!
