Low Range Gears – 40% (2.7:1) Reduction (Manual) to suit Mitsubishi Gen 2

Marks 4WD Adaptors manufacture low range reduction gears to suit many models of Mitsubishi Pajero, Montero, Shogun and Triton. These gears are manufactured in house at our facility in Melbourne, Australia. We manufacture two reduction ratios for the Generation 2 transfer cases to suit different vehicle applications and requirements.

The 40% reduction gears give you a great overall reduction and suits vehicles fitted with a manual or automatic transmission. These are suited to vehicles used for rock crawling, sand, desert or vehicles that are prone to run away down hill (fitted with an automatic transmission). As an example, this reduction gives a manual vehicle about one gear below where the factory gearing sat. The high range is not altered when fitting our low-range gears.

Will these Gears fit my Vehicle?

You will need to remove and open the transfer case and check the idler gear has external shoulders for the roller bearings and the face width of the gear must be approximately 30mm and 28mm, respectively. Please see the image below for reference;
